JRB/The Heritage Parking Deck

Oklahoma City, OK

SDA has designed a new parking deck in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City that is both useful and stylish. The five-story deck will park 381 vehicles and includes circular routing for superior street access.

The design employed a simple and elegant materiality of limestone and steel, inspired by the Oklahoma City National Memorial located across the street. “Fins” or long vertical panels with LED lighting were also added to complement the vertical lighting of the Memorial. Steel mesh panels were used on façades that allow views out to the city and also provide daylighting. The exterior circulation towers focus on views of the city and the Memorial.

Part of the plan for the adaptive use of the former Journal Record Building, this deck serves that building’s new offices. The deck was also designed to accommodate a future commercial or office space add-on, currently occupied by an open parking lot.
