White Provision

Atlanta, GA

The seamless transition between life, work, and leisure in a compact few blocks has made White Provision one of Atlanta’s most desirable urban environments.  A historic meat-packing plant, the landmark White Provision Company serves as the development’s point of origin.  Boutique retail and office spaces in the old Industrial Gothic structure interface with newly-constructed housing, shops, and restaurants.

A strategy of subtraction brought order to the site’s haphazard series of additions.  The decision to demolish an old loading dock so the city street and sidewalks could continue through the development jump-started connectivity, and the pedestrian bridge over the railroad corridor to neighboring Westside completed the integration.  An entire two-level bay was removed that now provides an iconic central entry point and pedestrian breezeway.  White Provision successfully forges a village feel while retaining historic character and texture.
